Man Sentenced to 26 years in Prison for Sex Trafficking

An Amarillo man was sentenced on Tuesday to 26 years in federal prison for convictions of sex trafficking.

Brian Phea, 25, met a 14-year-old Houston girl online in March and convinced her to visit him. He purchased her bus ticket to Amarillo, where he picked her up and later had sex with her at his mother’s home.

Phea then drove the girl to the city of Odessa, advertised her sexual services online and forced her to have intercourse with a man for $140.

Phea’s accomplice was then tasked with driving her home. Police stopped their car on the way for a traffic violation. When officers examined the girl’s cellphone, they found evidence of her prostitution.

In July, a jury found Phea guilty on charges of child sex trafficking and prostitution.
