The family of a sexually abused boy is filing a lawsuit against Hill Country summer camp and its owner.
Matthew Bovee was the senior camp counselor who was convicted of sexually assaulting the boy in July 2009. Bovee is currently serving a 9-year prison sentence.
The child had contacted his parents through a letter about unusual activity. The parents called the owner of the camp, Blake Smith, who discouraged the parents from speaking to the child. Smith allegedly told the parents that the child was just experiencing home sickness and that talking to his parents would only exaggerate his feeling.
The parents are now seeking charges against the camp and the owner.
